Hamilton Land Planning is founded by Deidre Hamilton, formerly Co-Owner of Hamilton Swift and Associates. Deidre has over 40 years of land use experience including work in both the public and private sector. Her expertise is in the land use regulatory environment of Santa Cruz county and has successfully navigated hundreds of projects through the permitting process of different jurisdictions and agencies.
Hamilton Land Planning will assist you throughout the lifecycle of the complicated real estate permitting process, whether your project is big or small we are there for you.
Principal
Deidre Hamilton has over 40 years of experience including 10 years with the County of Santa Cruz Planning Department. She was a principal with Hamilton Swift and Associates Before Starting Hamilton Land Planning in September, 2016. She excels at successfully moving projects through the complex permitting process.
She worked for the County of Santa Cruz Planning Department for over 10 years. Prior to that she worked for the U.S. Census Bureau and both the City and County of San Diego. Deidre has a degree in Urban and Rural Studies from UC, San Diego.
Deidre was recently appointed to be a member of the Downtown Commission for the City of Santa Cruz.
Deidre believes strongly in community support and service. In addition to financial contributions to various organizations, she has also served on the board of many organizations such as: Kuumbwa Jazz Center (past President), Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County (past President and honorary trustee), YWCA (past President), Cultural Council, Dominican Hospital Community, and Women in Philanthropy for United Way. In 2016, the United Way honored Deidre as a Community Hero for her work, support and contributions to Jazz Education in Santa Cruz County. Deidre is also a member of the American Planning Association and the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce.
